CalmaStay
CalmaStay is an award-winning luxury desert retreat in California, designed as a serene sanctuary for rest, wellness, and reconnection with nature. The website showcases the property’s architecture, design awards, wellness amenities, and surrounding desert experiences — creating a tranquil, immersive digital experience that inspires guests to book and slow down.
Challenge
CalmaStay needed a website that reflected its premium design, intentional living philosophy, and unique desert setting. The goal was to communicate luxury without excess, highlight sustainability and wellness features, and guide visitors toward booking — all while maintaining a calm, effortless user experience aligned with the retreat’s values.
Solution
I designed a custom Squarespace website for CalmaStay, combining visually striking imagery, clean minimal layouts, and intuitive navigation. Every section was crafted to evoke calm and clarity, from showcasing the retreat’s award-winning architecture and sustainable features to highlighting wellness amenities and curated local experiences. The site guides visitors through the feeling of staying at CalmaStay, not just the logistics — emphasizing tranquility, luxury, and intentional living throughout.
Result
The new CalmaStay website positions the retreat as a premier luxury desert escape for design-conscious, wellness-focused travelers. It elevates the brand’s perception, builds trust, and inspires bookings through immersive visuals, thoughtful storytelling, and seamless responsiveness across devices. Visitors can explore the space, understand the experience, and book with confidence — all while feeling the calm CalmaStay is known for. This project is a strong example of how thoughtful Squarespace design can translate a physical space into a digital experience that feels just as refined and restorative.
